The story

Two strays. One bond. One rule.

A world of predators can only survive if it is held in check. Left alone, its hunger tips the balance and everything falls apart. The Velur Order exists to keep that balance, by force, from the shadows — and its weapons are never single.

Operatives are bonded in pairs through an implanted earpiece that keeps them connected every waking moment. The link forges a bond deeper than loyalty, and it is the Order’s leash: what makes a pair unstoppable is also the one weakness the Order can always pull.
